Venetian Vulnerable Architecture
The new study shows that Venice is still slowly sinking (few centimetres per year), and the world-famous architecture heritage faces an increasing threat from sea level rise. Restoring of 1 m2 of the buildings’ foundation, facade or flooring costs about EUR 3 500 per year. The scientists all over the world were trying to find the effective solution on how to enhance Venetian constructions and to reduce the maintenance expenses.
Nowadays, the geopolymer-based products are supporting the city welfare, inasmuch as they are implemented in order to renovate and to protect concrete from the increased humidity impact.
