Water Temple on Bali
Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple complex was built in 1633. According to the legend, Dewi Danu, lake and river goddess of the Balinese Hinduism, was so attracted by Meru tower, that she appropriates the shrine occasionally raising the water level of Lake Bratan and flooding it. Local inhabitants say, the temple has faced with several natural disasters over the past 100 years, but was not seriously damaged due to goddess’s protection.
There is no guarantee that Dewi Danu will prevent other buildings from aging, combustion and corrosion, but these goals are almost within GEOFIP™ geopolymer products’ reach.
